Firstly, search engines analyse content to determine how it should be indexed.

Therefore, if you are hoping to achieve a high ranking for a particular keyword,

for example, it is essential that you include content in your web pages that

relate directly to that keyword (and variations of it).

The grammar, spelling, syntax, originality and repetition of that content will

determine whether the search engine considers your site to be an “authority”

on that topic, which would then usually result in a high page rank. If, however,

you have low quality content (e.g. incorrect spelling, poor grammar, a high

level of repetition of the same keywords), it could be perceived as “spam” by the search engine crawlers and lead to a

lower page rank or the complete delisting of your site.

Even once you have achieved a high ranking for a particular keyword, the best way to ensure that you maintain that ranking

is to regularly post relevant and high quality content on that topic or relating to that theme. Search engines maintain real-

time information. As such, if another company or person posts content that is more up-to-date or considered to be of higher

relevance to your targeted keywords, you could quite easily lose your position.
